The Boxster comes fitted with a 2.7-litre flat-six engine with direct fuel injection (DFI) and VarioCam Plus. It generates 195 kW (265 hp) of power at 6,700 rpm. The maximum torque of 280 Nm is available over a broad engine range of 4,500 rpm to 6,500 rpm.

The new Boxster with six-speed manual gearbox accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 5.8 seconds and attains a top speed of 264 km/h (164 mph). With the optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), it achieves the 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) sprint in 5.7 seconds and a reaches a maximum speed of 262 km/h (162 mph). In conjunction with the optional Sport Chrono Package, the sprint time is reduced further to just 5.5 seconds.

The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 254 km/h. On the other hand,the Porsche Boxster S is fitted with a 3.4-litre flat-six engine with direct fuel injection (DFI) and VarioCam Plus producing a maximum power of 315 hp at 6700 rpm and a peak torque of 360 Nm between 4500-5800 rpm. With the roadster going from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.1 seconds, the variant promises to deliver a top speed of 279 kmph. Both the engines are coupled with six speed manual transmission with a seven speed PDK available as an option.
