Renault Scala is equipped with 1.5-litre of diesel motor, which produces 84.8bhp of maximum power along with 200 Nm of peak torque. While the petrol version of the same houses a 1.5-litre engine, which generates 97.6bhp of power accompanied with 134 Nm of torque. Both the powertrains comes coupled with five speed manual transmission gearbox which would help the sedan to deliver an impressive mileage of 21.64 kmpl with diesel and 16.95kmpl with petrol (ARAI figure) . While the one mated with X-TRONIC transmission is able to generate mileage figures of 17. 97kmpl.

The car maker has equipped the petrol version with a 1.5-litre, XH2 mill that comes with electronic fuel injection system. This engine, mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox can breach a 100 Kmph mark in approximately 13.58 seconds and can reach a top speed of about 155 Kmph. On the other hand, the CVT X-Tronic version takes only about 12.11 seconds to break the 100 Kmph mark and it can achieve a top speed of 160 Kmph. On the other hand, the diesel version is blessed with a 1.5-litre K9K engine that can accelerate from 0 to 100 in about 16 seconds and can reach a top speed in the range of 160 to 165 Kmph.
