Renault Scala is equipped with 1.5-litre of diesel motor, which produces
84.8bhp of maximum power along with 200 Nm of peak torque. While the
petrol version of the same houses a 1.5-litre engine, which generates
97.6bhp of power accompanied with 134 Nm of torque. Both the powertrains
comes coupled with five speed manual transmission gearbox which would
help the sedan to deliver an impressive mileage of 21.64 kmpl with diesel and 16.95kmpl with petrol (ARAI figure) . While the one mated with X-TRONIC transmission is able to generate mileage figures of 17. 97kmpl.
The
car maker has equipped the petrol version with a 1.5-litre, XH2 mill
that comes with electronic fuel injection system. This engine, mated
with a 5-speed manual gearbox can breach a 100 Kmph mark in
approximately 13.58 seconds and can reach a top speed of about 155 Kmph.
On the other hand, the CVT X-Tronic version takes only about 12.11
seconds to break the 100 Kmph mark and it can achieve a top speed of 160
Kmph. On the other hand, the diesel version is blessed with a 1.5-litre
K9K engine that can accelerate from 0 to 100 in about 16 seconds and
can reach a top speed in the range of 160 to 165 Kmph.

In terms of design, this sedan by Renault Scala has been developed with
amazing looks and seems like it gives a strong competition to others on
this particularly note. The sedan shares lot of exterior features with
Nissan's Sunny, but the element which distinguished both are some
styling clues taken from its big brother Renault Fluence, which was
launched in the Indian car market sometime ago and managed to get good
reviews from the critics as well as the consumers. On the front end, the
bumper's design is stylish and the grille is again done to make it look
eye-catchy. While the grille design resembles to that of Fluence, but
certainly it has been made more enhanced and beautiful.

The interiors of Renault Scala are posh, lavish and premium. The company
made sure that the sedan comes out to be not only an affordable but
also stylish, chic and comfortable . The instrument cluster is again
very eye-catchy, while the dash board design is also made attractive in
nature. The Multi Information display provides every crucial information
over it. On the inside, the seats are made with both option of fabric
and leather upholstery, that depends on the variant. The leather wrapped
steering wheel, also mounted with audio controls, does lifts up the
overall appeal of the sedan from inside. The center console is more like
in case of Nissan vehicles, the circular mounted controls over it,
makes the interiors look distinguish. To create more comfortable
ambiance there's an effective air conditioning system which is
accompanied with automatic climate control.

The petrol variants have been fitted with 1.5-litre, XH2 power plant
that is incorporated with an electronic fuel injection system. This mill
is based on a dual overhead camshaft valve configuration with four cylinders and 16-valves, which displaces 1498cc.
The company is offering this petrol version with a 5-speed manual as
well as a CVT X-Tronic automatic gearbox options. The manual version
produces a peak power of 97.64bhp at 6000rpm, while the automatic trim
develops 99.6bhp at just 5600rpm.

Both these versions can yield a peak
torque output of 134Nm at 4000rpm. On the other hand, all the diesel
versions are fitted with 1.5-litre, K9K that are blessed with common
rail direct fuel injection system. It comprises of 4-cylinders and 8
valves using SOHC valve configuration, which makes a total displacement
capacity of 1461cc. This power plant can churn out a decent power of
84.8bhp at 3750rpm and yields a hammering torque output of 200Nm at just
2000rpm. It is paired with a five speed manual gearbox that powers the
front wheels to draw torque output and produce a peak mileage of 21.64
Kmpl.

distribution system, the new Renault Scala also comes with dual front
